Description: Traditionally known as the
DNR trip, this trip is an old WSTC favorite. A short drive
(175
miles) takes us to Michigan’s Roscommon/Grayling Snow
Belt. Besides man-tracked trails right outside the DNR lodging,
other near-by possibilities are Hanson Hills, Mason Tract,
Hartwick Pines and Cross Country Ski Headquarters. These
trails provide scenic routes through the countryside, running
by rivers
and through forests or farm country. Check out the MacMullan
Conference Center website for
a description of this gorgeous facility in the woods. This
trip will go regardless of snow conditions as there
is hiking and touring to enjoy if there is no snow.
Lodging: The
MacMullan Conference Center provides two-person rooms in
lodges with community bathrooms.
Cost: $135.00* per person. Price includes
2 nights lodging, two full breakfasts, Saturday evening dinner,
coffee, tea & hot
chocolate in the lodge lounge. Lunches and trail fees extra.

3 cabins on Millecoquin’s Lake. Ski groomed trails nearby,
including Canada Lakes Pathway, Northern Hardwoods, Tahquamenon

Spur (75 miles). Enjoy skiing on the clubs’ 40,000 acres
of land and water. There are many miles of trails within the club’s
property. All ski abilities are welcome and would enjoy this trip.

Stokely

Description: Join us for three glorious days (Monday
night through Wednesday night) of skiing and fabulous food at Stokely
Creek Lodge. This trip can be done as an extension of the Hiawatha
trip (see above) or as a stand-alone trip. The 120 km of ski trails
offer views of lakes, streams, forest and incredible solitude. Cross-country
ski some of the finest and most beautiful terrain in North America.
Cost: Stokely Creek has a variety of accommodations
at differing price levels. Prices range, per day, per person,
from $98-$139 (double occ.) w/ 3 meals per day & trail fees. Gayle
will help facilitate skiers’ arrangements, but payment must be
made directly to Stokely Creek.

Description: Ski the entire 11 mile Mason Tract Pathway,
along the AuSable River. Transportation provided to starting point. (Shorter
options available.) All meals included, prepared and served by lodge owner.
Lodge deck overlooks the AuSable River. Nearby skiing at Hartwick Pines,
Hanson Hills, Cross Country Ski Headquarters, Forbush Corners, Loud Creek
and Wakely Lake.
Lodging: 3 rooms w/ 2 double beds ea;
2 rooms w/ 2 twin beds ea; 1 room w/ queen bed. King Suite available
if over 10 participants. 3-4 bathrooms. Linens and towels provided.
Hot tub spa overlooks the river.
Meals Friday night pizza, two breakfasts, trail lunch,
Saturday dinner. Guest access to cooler and microwave.
Cost: $210 per person. Includes 2 nights lodging,
meals and transportation to trail.

N. of Gaylord on Sturgeon River, w/ fireplaces & kitchens. Great skiing & snow
shoeing a short drive away at Pigeon River Trail & Wildwood
Hills Pathway.
Enjoy Saturday night potluck dinner w/ lively conversation and maybe a heated
game of Trivial Pursuit. NOTE: Bring your own bed linens (or sleeping
bag) & towels.

Description: Aspen Grove XC Center offers a variety
of terrain from flat and rolling fields to upland deciduous hardwoods
along with conifer forests. Currently there are 15 to 20 km of trails
offering Nordic, skating and snowshoe trails. Rentals of ski and
snow shoe gear are available along with lessons or guided eco-tours.
This trip also offers a unique opportunity for a safe, guided, incredibly
memorable winter
raft trip down the Jordan River . East Jordan is near other desirable
XC ski areas which will make this weekend memorable.
Lodging: The
Jordan Inn offers bed & breakfast-style accommodations with
a dining room and full-service bar.
Cost: $145 per person based on shared or private
bath, single or double occupancy. Cost includes full breakfast. Trail
fees, lunch, dinner or other excursions are not included in cost.

Grayling Getaway
In the great Michigan snow belt of Grayling, MI

Description: Stay at the lovely and quaint Pointe
North of Grayling just 190 miles north of Ann Arbor, close enough
to enjoy a good ski on the way up on Friday. The Lone Pine Inn is
within walking distance for breakfast with good service and coffee.
Plans are to ski at Hanson Hills on Saturday. Sunday's ski will be
determined by the group or on your own. The Mason Tract, Hartwick
Pines and Cross Country Ski Headquarters are all nearby. We'll enjoy
dinner together in town on Saturday after hors d'oeuvres (chips,
soft drinks, etc) at the hotel. Feel free to bring your own beer
or wine.
Cost: $85 per person- based on double occupancy
(2 double beds per room). Price includes 2 nights’ lodging
and snacks. Trail fees and meals are extra.

Trip prices are in U.S. dollars and priced on
a per person basis and on room occupancy as noted. Lodging is non-smoking,

and car-pooling upon request. Trip payment must be submitted in
check payable to “WSTC”.
