WSTC members:

The Metro Detroit Ski Council (MDSC) is a council of some 30+ ski clubs in Michigan. It was formed in 1954. They publish a Ski Club Guide every year, they run the downhill party at Boyne Mountain every St. Patrick's weekend, and they run a Travel Round Up show every May for ski club trip organizers. The MDSC used to run an annual ski show. A sub organization is the Michigan Alpine Competition Committee, www.maccracing.org, which runs the premier adult downhill ski racing series in Michigan.

By being a member of the council, anyone who is a legitimate member of another MDSC ski club can go on another club's event at the same price that club charges it's own members. Notice I merely said "event". This could be a white water raft trip, bicycle weekend trip, even a Halloween party. There are "summer" ski trips to New Zealand and South America.

A club that is based 50 miles or more from Greektown in Detroit (where meetings are held) can be an Associate Member Club, and they only have to show up at two meetings a year.

The WSTC board sees the main advantage of joining the MDSC as having other clubs know of our trips, and a link to our web site will be on the www.MDSCski.org web site.

Cheers,

Bruce
