Purpose of the Washtenaw Ski Touring Club
To promote cross country skiing and to share the interest with others interested in cross country skiing. The Washtenaw Ski Touring Club is an organization of people with a shared interest in cross country skiing, who appreciate nature, enjoy the outdoors, want to stay active and healthy throughout the year, and enjoy the fellowship of others with similar interests.

Dec 2 Nordic Ski Walking
Running and ski coach Pete Edwards will demonstrate cross-training with his American Ski Walking system which uses modified trekking poles custom made in Lillehammer, Norway. Nordic Ski Walking is the fastest growing fitness activity in Europe - no snow, no skis required!

Steu White will lead a discussion exploring every aspect of getting to
our favorite ski spots: checklists, restaurants, NPR stations, etc.

Jan 20 A Ski (Mis)adventure in Backcountry Quebec
A four day ski-in camping trip was a great adventure for some, catastrophe for others. It all depended on preparation. Bivouac outdoor consultant Justin LeFevre will discus the gear and planning that makes the difference.

Getting Started In Skijoring
Ever wish you could hitch sled dogs to your skis and get a "free ride"? That's skijoring! Alaskan Malamute breeder Raissa Hinman (Arcticdawn.com) will show us how.

Feb 17 Snowshoeing in Idaho and Michigan
Christine Comer has trained novice hikers and snowshoers. She will talk about walking on snow in Idaho and Michigan.
