(Southern part of Saline and four southern Washtenaw County townships, as well as
all of Lenawee, Jackson, Branch, Calhoun, Eaton, Hillsdale and part of Barry County)
Incumbent Nick Smith (R), with 53% of the vote, has defeated Kim Tunnicliff (D).
8th U.S. Congressional District
(Livingston, parts of Ingham, Shiawassee, Oakland and Genesee Counties, and Washtenaw County west of Ann Arbor)
Challenger Debbie Stabenow (D), with 52% of the vote, has defeated incumbent Representative Dick Chrysler (R).
This was the only house race in Michigan in which a party gained or lost a seat.
13th U.S. Congressional District
(Western Wayne County, and eastern Washtenaw County, including Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti)
Lynn N. Rivers (D), with 62% of the vote, has defeated Joe Fitzsimmons (R).

(Northern and western Washtenaw County including Dexter and Chelsea; East, North, and West Ann Arbor)
Incumbent Mary Schroer (D), with 65% of the vote, has defeated David Felbeck (R).
53rd State House District
(Central and southern Ann Arbor, Pittsfield Township)
Incumbent Elizabeth S. Brater (D), with 69% of the vote, has defeated Chris Schmitt (R).
54th State House District
(City of Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti and Salem Townships)
Incumbent Kirk A. Profit (D), with 70% of the vote, has defeated Thomas Michael Banks (R).
55th State House District
(Southern Washtenaw County, including Saline and Manchester)
Incumbent Beverly Hammerstrom (R), with 58% of the vote, has defeated Georgene Campbell (D).
State Supreme Court
The top two vote-getters are James H. Brickley (incumbent) and Marilyn Kelly.
State Board of Education
The top two vote-getters are Marianne Yared McGuire (D) and Herbert S. Moyer (D).
U-M Board of Regents
The top two vote-getters are Olivia P. Maynard (D) and S. Martin Taylor (D).
MSU Board of Trustees
The top two vote-getters are Joel I. Ferguson (D) and Robert E. Weiss (D).
Wayne State Board of Governors
The top two vote-getters are Murray E. Jackson (D) and Annetta Miller (D).
Candidates For Contested County Offices
County Commissioner, 2nd District
(Northfield, Salem, and Superior townships)
Martha L. Kern (D), with 51% of the vote, has defeated incumbent
Lawrence R. Yapp (R) in a close election. The vote totals are 4222 for Kerns and 3963 for Yapp).
This was the only county commisioner seat to change parties.
County Commissioner, 4th District
(West side, Ann Arbor)
Incumbent Carlos Acevedo (D), with 58% of the vote, has defeated Patricia Buhrer (R).
County Commissioner, 5th District
(East side, Ann Arbor)
Incumbent Barbara Levin Bergman (D), with 61% of the vote, has defeated Dick Fischer (R).
County Commissioner, 7th District
(Pittsfield Township and western York Township)
Incumbent Marlene A. Chockley (R), with 51% of the vote, has narrowly Julie Griess (D). The vote totals are
4651 for Chockley, and 4369 for Griess.
County Commissioner, 14th District
(Eastern Ypsilanti)
Incumbent Suzanne Shaw (D), with 66% of the vote, has defeated Ann Savickas (R).
County Prosecuting Attorney
Incumbent Brian L. Mackie (D), with 64% of the vote, has defeated Kirk W. Tabbey (R).
County Sheriff
Incumbent Ron Schebil (R), with 58% of the vote, has defeated Eugene Smith, Jr. (D).
County Treasurer
Catherine McClary (D), with 53% of the vote, has defeated incumbent Larry Gass (R).
County Clerk/Register of Deeds
Incumbent Peggy M.Haines (R), with 55% of the vote, has defeated Simone Lightfoot (D).
22nd Circuit Court
The top two vote-getters are imcumbents Patrick J. Conlin and Donald E. Shelton.
Washtenaw County Ballot Proposals
WCC Job Training Millage
This proposal passes with 54% of the vote.
Sunday Hunting Ban Repeal
This proposal failed, gaining only 46% of the vote. The ban remains in effect.
Candidates for City of Ann Arbor Offices
Mayor of Ann Arbor
Mayor Ingrid B. Sheldon (R), with 53% of the vote, has defeated
Christoher C. Kolb (D).
City Council, Ward 2
Incumbent Jane Lumm (R), with 51% of the vote, has narrowly defeated Barbara Bach (D)
in a result that was decided by absentee ballots. The final vote tally is
4298 for Lumm, and 4084 for Bach.
City Council, Ward 4
Incumbent Stephen C. Hartwell (D), with 53% of the vote, has defeated
Patrick McKeon (R).
City Council, Ward 5
Incumbent Elisabeth L. Daley (D), with 63% of the vote, has defeated
Ren Snyder (R).
City Millage Proposal For Street Maintainance
This proposal has passed with 72% of the vote.
