The Kiwanis Club of Ypsilanti's Action Projects in support of our Service Commitments

Pancake Breakfast/Brunch
Coordinator: Dale Suckstorff

Our most recent pancake breakfast was held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church, in Ypsilanti. Watch this site for news of the next feast of gourmet pancakes and sausage in a relaxing atmosphere.

Key Clubs
Key Club Coordinator: Jerry Jennings
The Kiwanis Club of Ypsilanti sponsors Key Clubs at both Ypsilanti High School and Lincoln High
School to give students exposure to community service. Both clubs have approximately 40 members.

Circle K Club
Circle K Club Coordinator: William (Bill) Fennel
Eastern Michigan University students get an opportunity to participate community service through the Circle K Club sponsored by the Kiwanis club of Ypsilanti.

Ypsilanti/Saline Kiwanis Triangle Track Meet
Coordinator: Bob Harris
The Saline and Ypsilanti Kiwanis Clubs jointly sponsor the Triangle Track meet each May to provide boys and girls from area schools an opportunity to participate in an organized track meet. The clubs purchases the trophies and provide concessions. Boys and girls from several local schools participate. This year (2007) the meet will be held at Ypsilanti High School on Saturday, May 5. More details will be provided as soon as they are available.

Football/Basketball Ushering at EMU
Ushering Coordinator: Bob Harris
As a fund raising project and as a service, our club, with assistance from our Key Clubs and Circle K Club, provides ushers for the Eastern Michigan University home football and basketball games.

Meals on Wheels
Coordinator: Charlie Anderson
Each Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years the club provides assistance to the Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels program. The meals for the day are picked up from the food preparer and are dispensed to the volunteer drivers for delivery to the home bound recipients.

Chicken Broil
Watch this space for details on a exciting replacement for the Kiwanis Chicken Broil at the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival. Plans are still being finalized, and we will be publcizing our new event within a few weeks.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Coordinator: Dale Suckstorff

In December of each year, the club provides bell ringers for a day at several retail outlets, to assist the Salvation Army in raising funds to support their projects.
