A Queen Anne mansion built in 1888 for the James and Daisey Hack family contains
original murals, a summer kitchen, and an elaborate three-seated outhouse. Listed
on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is a project of the Milan
Area Historical Society. As reported in the Milan News-Leader on August 12, 1998, the Hack House was purchased by the City of Milan and is operated by the newly-formed Historic Commission who oversee the care and maintenance of the building. The Milan Area Historical Society collects, exhibits, and maintains the house museum containing artifacts from the history of Milan. |
