Library of the Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County, Michigan, Inc. Placing an LDS Order |
||
| For library patrons who are unfamiliar with the procedure for ordering microforms from the LDS, the process is simple: | ||||
| 1- Selection | Using the microfiche files or the Family History Library Catalog on CD, select the microfilm or microfiche you would like to order. | |||
| 2- Form | Ask the librarian for an order form and assistance in filling it out. | |||
| 3- Payment |
Make payment in advance by cash or check. The per item cost is:
|
|||
| 4- Place Order | The librarian will place your order with the LDS, along with those of other library patrons. It will take about two to four weeks for it to come in. | |||
| 5- It's here! |
You will be contacted by phone or mail when they arrive. All items must be used in the library. The librarian can show you where the microfiche and microfilms which were ordered can be found. When you are finished using the microform for the day, leave it in the box on top of the cabinet in which it was found so that the librarian can refile it later. Please do not refile it yourself. |
|||
| 6- Return | The loan of the microform is for a specific period of time (four weeks or six months). Please notify the librarian when you are finished with them so that they may be sent back to the LDS. | |||
