A. Promote Fulbright Programs
- Promote the presence of the local chapter
within southeastern Michigan and at the major universities in
our area.
- Organize and support the advocacy of issues
within the national government in support of Fulbright programs,
both on an individual and collective basis.
- Promote efforts to increase membership in
the chapter among faculty and students, as well as institutions
within southeastern Michigan.
- Build coalitions with internationally-oriented
organizations.
B. Arrange Hospitality and
Events for Visiting Fulbright Students and Scholars
- Make every effort to identify and contact
new Fulbrighters prior to and immediately upon arrival in the
United States.
- Introduce visitors into the community.
- Plan activities in which visitors will have
the opportunity to meet each other and American Fulbrighters
with emphasis on the first two months of their visit.
C. Maintain the Operations
of the Local Chapter
- Develop an infrastructure for the local chapter
and the board and a process by which individuals may become involved
at different levels.
- Reexamine the need and options for fund raising.
D. Address the needs and interests
of Local Fulbright Alumni
- Make every effort to identify new American
Fulbright recipients, assist them as they prepare for their overseas
experience.
- Reassess the interests of identified Fulbright
alumni, both student and faculty.
- Activate local alumni through email mechanisms,
telephone contact and high profile events.
