March 2012
To the Children of God at Emmanuel:
Lent has started. Can we learn from our Lenten journey over the next few weeks? Can our eyes be opened to see old ideas birth new insights? Can our ears listen to old words and perceive new thoughts? Are we willing to learn?
During our midweek services for Lent we will experience some gentle and quiet time. We will reflect on some basic Lutheran theological understanding. We will ask ourselves questions and seek to learn how Christians with a Lutheran background understand the theology of our church. This would be an excellent time for new members, those interested in joining the church and those who have been a part of the Lutheran tradition to come and learn.
Below you will find our area of reflection over the next few weeks:

- March 14 – Vocation
- March 21 – Mission
- March 28 – Law and Gospel
I pray for all of us as we move from the ashen cross of Lent to the glorious empty tomb of the Resurrection of our Lord.
