Clothes Closet
Emmanuel's Clothes Closet receives donations of clean, serviceable clothing and small household items, sorts it, and distributes it to the needy. Excess clothing is taken to the Rescue Mission, to men's and women's shelters in the Cass Corridor in Detroit, and to Lutheran World Relief.
I Need Help:
Every Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, clothing, shoes, bedding and household items are available. People may come to the church and go to the north entrance (double doors at the north end of the building facing River St.) to see what is available. Referrals are not needed.
I Want to Help Others:
Contribute Clothing -- Contributions can be during office house (9:00 - 12:00 AM; 1:00 - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday). As our storage space is limited there are periods when we may not be able to accept clothing; we recommend you contact the Church office first (734-482-7121, emmanuel@provide.net) to make sure we can accept your contribution. Please do not leave clothing outside when the church is unoccupied, as your contribution can be ruined by inclement weather and/or animals.
Sort & Distribute -- Volunteers are also needed to sort and distribute clothing. Sorting is done on Wednesdays from 9:00 - 11:00 AM downstairs in the Fellowship area. Contact the Social Concerns committee for more information.
