Our Organist
Our organist is David C. Meitzler. He has a great fondness for church music and encourages people to pay attention to the words, something he was taught by the director who welcomed him to sing in his first choir. “It was a long time ago, but it still affects me today. I've never forgotten the positive impact on my life from being able to be a part of the church choir. It was there that I developed a fascination with the pipe organ and eventually I joined additional choirs and pursued a career in music. My mother loved the idea because she, herself, was an organist and music teacher.”
David has a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Eastern Michigan University and is a certified music therapist. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Technology and a Master of Liberal Studies. He is a commercial pilot and certified flight instructor. He continues organ studies under Dr. James Wagner of Ypsilanti with a focus on church music and is a life-long student of voice and piano.
David is a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Ann Arbor, the Measure for Measure Choir, and the American Guild of Organists.
“Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the faithful!”
