Anniversary Service
Photo Album
August 30, 2009
During 2009 Emmanuel has organized special worship services and other events to celebrate our 150th anniversary. The second event, celebrating our present, was held on August 30th. This worship service was led by members of our senior youth, as well as a bunch of clowns. Clown ministry not only entertains and brings humor into our lives, it is an effective means of teaching lessons and praising God.
This page features pictures of the preparations for this worship service. Pictures of the worship service itself, and of the festivities following worship, appear on separate pages.
For most of the summer and fall, a banner was displayed at the corner of our church announcing our sesquicentennial.
We also placed signs in front of River Boulevard that
read as follows (in Burma-shave fashion):
Life is good
God is Great
It's our 150th Anniversary
Help us Celebrate
Come one, come all
Just hit the brake
For free ice cream
without the cake
We're so excited
Join the celebration
You're all invited
It's not too late
Just turn around
for free ice cream
and music and clowns!
