During 2009 Emmanuel has organized special worship services and other events to celebrate our 150th anniversary. The first event, recognizing our past, was held on May 3rd; as part of this celebration Pastor Hendricks used hymn arrangements and worship setting from the 1930s and wore a ministerial robe from that period.

For this occasion Pastor Hendricks wore the vestments commonly used by ministers in the American Lutheran Church (predecessor of the ELCA) during the 1950s

We were fortunate to celebrate two baptisms during this worship service
Presenting the newly-baptized members to the congregation
Preaching the Word of God from the pulpit, in keeping with Lutheran tradition (Pastor Dave usually preaches from the main floor, next to the baptismal font)
Special music was provided by our brothers and sisters of Bethel Evangelical Church of Michigan, who also worship in our facility on Sunday morning.
