Joyful Hands Quilting

Monday 9:30am - 12:00 noon

Joyful Hands is a group of members and friends who continue the tradition of making quilts for the church. Throughout the year, they meet Monday mornings @ 9:30a.m. in the lounge to use contributed and purchased fabric and supplies to make quilts to be handed out at Emmanuel’s Christmas Gift distribution after the Hunger Coalition Dinner in December.

Threads & Yarn

Joyful Hands would appreciate your help for Emmanuel’s quilt ministry. Following the Christmas Gift Distribution event, the ladies of Joyful Hands set as their goal for the next gift distribution 100 quilts. To accomplish this we need fabric. We can use gently used of new sheets (any size), fabric left over from a project, or fabric you found on sale. Of course, we’ll be happy to accept cash donations so we can purchase the batting needed in the quilt. Cash or checks in an envelope labeled Joyful Hands can be placed into the offering plate. (You can also make an on-line contribution, select the "Other" fund category and enter Joyful Hands in the memo line).

Another goal of the ladies of Joyful Hands set for this year’s distribution event is to make sure that there are enough toys for the children. We need gently used toys and games as well as new toys and games.

We are again asking those who knit and crochet to work on some 7” x 9” pieces that will be assembled into afghans. Any color or style is fine. These will be assembled for distribution to those in need. For further information about this project can contact Christine Blossom.

and with all your soul, and with all your mind,
and with all your strength: this is the first commandment.”
