First Communion
Holy Communion, also known as the Eucharist, began on the night Jesus was betrayed by Judas. On that night Jesus was celebrating the Jewish Passover with his disciples. In the midst of the meal he took a loaf of bread, blessed it with a table prayer, broke it, and gave it to them, speaking the words, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way Jesus took a cup of wine from the table and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
First Communion Instruction is held in the fall for those in 5th grade and older who have not yet received instruction. Meeting dates are set up in the fall based on the schedules of the individuals and the pastor. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Hendricks.
“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.”
