Accessibility
In 1995, Emmanuel formed a task force that investigated ways of improving accessibility for our members and guests to worship with us. This resulted in Emmanuel undertaking a Handicap Accessibility Project to improve access and provide amenities for anyone using our facilities.
Here are some of the features of our building and worship which enable all to worship with us:
- Handicap-reserved parking at the west (riverside) parking lot next to elevator entrance
- Hospital-size elevator which connects the west (riverside) parking lot with the upper and lower levels of the educational wing. Guests and members can access the church sanctuary, church office, pastor's office, lounge, and pre-school area from the upper level; the kitchen, lower hall and grade school areas are accessed from the lower level.
- Handicap-accessible restrooms in the upper and lower levels
- A number of radio frequency hearing aids which receive the public address system broadcast in the sanctuary
- Large-print hymnals, bulletins and Bibles
For those who cannot worship with us at the church, we also offer a home visitation ministry.
