Emmanuel Lutheran Church Women

The Emmanuel Lutheran Church Women are open to all women members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. The ELCW is an active part of both the Southeast Michigan Synod Women of the ELCA and the Women of the ELCA national Lutheran womens' organizations.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church Women offers a monthly Bible study at the Mary-Anna Circle meeting the first Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. The ELCW Board organizes the annual Mother-Daughter Dinner, as well as a luncheon out, summer picnic, fall potluck and December brunch, for all women of the church.

Service activities include visiting those who are shut in; sewing for local needs and for ACTION for LSSM (one of many outreach programs offered by Lutheran Social Services of Michigan); gathering donations for personal care and school items for ACTION for LSSM; serving funeral luncheons and receptions; collecting canceled postage stamps for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal; coordinating the Prayer Chain; participating in Church Women United in Ypsilanti; funding Synod projects; and supporting other projects as needs arise.

“[A] woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
