School Bags for LSSM Foster Care

Thirty-six school bags were delivered recently to the Ann Arbor office of LSSM Foster Care Services where they were gratefully received. School supplies remaining from last year were supplemented by current donations and purchases, and miscellaneous items were made available to those who receive food boxes. We are grateful to our Emmanuel family for supporting this outreach with donations in kind and to ELCW for funding the purchases. Diane Burris coordinated this effort and delivered the filled bags to the Foster Care office on Carpenter Road. Thanks to all of you!

Lutheran Social Services of Michigan serves our “local” mission field, providing a multitude of services in Michigan. There is a great need in our area for foster care support, and LSSM’s program is just one of the ways in which we can help!

For more information about LSSM Foster Care Services or how you can support please contact Barb Miller or Diane Burris.

ELCW Picnic
Saturday, July 13 – 11:30 a.m.

The annual ELCW Picnic will be held on Saturday July 13 at 11:30am at the Pittsfield Towship Senior Center Pavillion, 701 W. Ellsworth Rd., Ann Arbor.

[Webmaster's unsolicited friendly driving advice - The State/Ellsworth intersection is being rebuilt into a roundabout this summer; access into this area is pretty confusing. Attendees may want to call the Senior Center office @ 734-822-2117 to ask for their advice on how to drive to the pavillion area and/or consider car-pooling to this event!].

All Emmanuel women and friends are invited to attend this Salad Potluck; table service and beverages will be provided.
