Genealogical Department

The museum's Genealogical Department is contains a limited collection of local family genealogies, including that of the village's founder, Judge Samuel W. Dexter. Local Protestant church records are archived at the museum. A card file is maintained on recent deaths and other events in Dexter and environs.

We have a collection of cemetery readings for the Dexter area includng, Forest Lawn cemetery, St. Andrews cemetery, St. Joseph's cemetery, and smaller cemeteries in Webster, Dexter, Lima, Scio, and Lyndon townships.  Click here to request a reading via e-mail.
