  • Access MeL Periodical List-Full Text (AMPL-FT)
    The AMPL-FT was created by the Oakland Schools Information Center staff. The purpose of this list is to provide a single alphabetical listing of periodicals which contain full text articles from Michigan eLibrary databases. Also provides periodical title and keyword search function.
  • eLibrary Elementary
    eLibrary Elementary contains reference books, journal articles, newspapers, photographs, maps, and radio and television news transcripts and is geared toward children in grades K - 9. All articles are full text. This is a MeL database. Users with a Michigan driver's license, state ID, or public library card may log in using one of those three options for remote access.
  • FirstSearch
    FirstSearch offers more than a dozen databases with periodical citations and articles covering a wide range of subject areas. WilsonSelectPlus is full text. WorldCat, containing cataloging information for books and other materials, is also part of FirstSearch. This is a MeL database. Users with a Michigan driver's license, state ID, or public library card may log in using one of those three options for remote access.
  • InfoTrac General OneFile / Thomson Gale databases
    InfoTrac provides access to three databases: Infotrac General Reference Center, Health Reference Center and Infotrac Kid's Edition. General Reference Center and Infotrac Kids Edition provide access to the full text of many general interest magazines, newspapers and reference books. The Health Reference Center provides access to consumer medical information. Please read the disclaimer information associated with this database. This is a MeL database. Users with a Michigan driver's license, state ID, or public library card may log in using one of those three options for remote access.
  • Learning Express Library
    Based on official standardized tests, the purpose of this service is to help students and adults improve scores on academic, civil service, military, and professional licensing and certification exams. Learning Express Library provides immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and individualized analysis of an individual's score. More than 100 tests are available. For remote access, please come into the Dexter District Library to set-up account.
  • Michigan eLibrary (MeL)
    MeL provides access to many online databases. Users who own a Michigan driver's license, state ID or have a library card from a Michigan public library can access the databases directly from the Internet, anywhere.
  • NetLibrary
    The MeL eBooks collection from NetLibrary includes more than 20,000 eBooks covering a wide range of topics and reading levels. In addition, there are more than 3,000 public domain titles. All titles are full text electronic versions of the printed book. For remote access, please come into the Dexter District Library to set-up account.
    To set up a a remote access account at the Library:
      1) go to one of the public computers
      2) go to the Library's Web site
      3) click on "online resources"
      4) find and click on NetLibrary from that page
      5) there you will be prompted to create your own remote access account.
  • NoveList
    NoveList is the leading electronic fiction resource, providing enhanced subject access to over 100,000 fiction titles. Find fiction titles based on a favorite author, title, or description, browse lists based on genre or awards (over 1000 pre-made lists), search by subject heading, reviews, publishers and read and use feature articles and book discussion guides. This is a MeL database. Access to this resource is limited to computers at the Dexter District Library. Please feel free to visit the Library for access to this site.
  • SIRS Discoverer
    SIRS Discoverer Deluxe contains magazine and newspaper articles, maps, government documents and photographs and is geared toward children in grades K-9. All articles are full text. This is a MeL database. Users with a Michigan driver's license, state ID, or public library card may log in using one of those three options for remote access.
