| Hikone
The oldest of the CAN operated community centers, Hikone comprises 29 units on the south side of Ann Arbor. Hikone is a public housing site which specifically houses families. Over the past 7 years Hikone has developed a reputation for community and togetherness. (More) |
Communities
CAN operates four community centers in Ann Arbor , offering a variety of services to under-resourced and low-income communities. Three CAN community centers offer after school programming for students ages five and up. Here students are able to receive homework help, tutoring, mentoring, and a variety of life skills programming. CAN actively advocates for its residents in the schools. CAN offers on-site emergency food pantries as well as scheduled mass food distribution. Hot meals are available at least four days a week in the centers. | |
