Our Mission

Community Action Network partners with children, youth and families from under-resourced Washtenaw County neighborhoods to create better futures for themselves, and improve the communities in which they live.

CAN would like to thank its supporters who have contributed their time and money, enabling CAN to do its work. Throughout the year, CAN has been able to impact the communities it serves in many ways both measurable and immeasurable. Some highlights include:

Children & Youth	Families	Communities
• 96% high school graduation rate since 2002	• ~18,000 meals/yr served	• Neighborhoods cleaner, safer
• 20% improvement in work readiness scores of YouthWorks participants (2009)	• No missed meals for families due to lack of food	• Jobs and business opportunities being created
• Most go on to post-secondary training/school	• No evictions due to non-payment of rent/utilities	• Residents proactively addressing community issues
