Dance & Music Program

Dance Workshops

Monday and Friday 4 - 6 pm

Dance is an art form through which the heart can speak. The children who enroll in this after-school program learn to "speak" their innermost feelings through movement. Workshops are offered in the following dance forms:

• Ballet
• African
• Liturgical
• Modern and jazz techniques

Instrumental Music Program

Ms. Kwamise Taylor, Music Instructor
Tuesday and Thursday 4 - 6 pm

Music stimulates the mind and feeds the soul. This program fills a void for children ages 5-14 who have no other means of satisfying their need for musical expression. Children are grouped by age to assure optimal learning. Course offerings include the following:

• Piano lessons using digital keyboards in a laboratory setting.
• Recorder lessons (a recorder is a portable wind instrument similar to a short clarinet).
• Lessons on how to readmusic.
• Handbell lessons
