The Huron Valley Community Network (HVCN) is Washtenaw County's on-line information resource. Our mission is to develop a system that will allow individuals and community organizations, such as schools, governments, libraries, businesses, religious groups, and clubs, to share information and ideas with the community for little or no cost.
The Huron Valley Community Network is an offshoot of the Huron Valley Free-Net Project. It is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation currently run by the founding board of directors. In the near future, however, the HVCN will begin accepting members, who will then elect a new board of directors.
HVCN is an open community-based organization serving the needs of the residents of our coverage area. To meet this goal, the HVCN has enlisted the support of many community groups, including:
HVCN believes in working together with libraries, schools, local governments, non-profit organizations, and others to promote the use of technology as a medium for distribution of community information and citizen participation in community activities.
If you are outside of our primary coverage area, you may still be able to make use of some of our services. Please contact us.
